Biographies

The Long Run hails from Canvey Island, Essex, in the South East of England. The group itself consists of childhood friends Darren Jones, John Cordon and Stewart Archer, who have been playing and performing music together since their school days.

In 2005, Darren and John decided to form a new band with Darren as the lead singer and guitarist and John as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist. After putting some material together they were soon joined by Darren’s brother Gavin on bass guitar and friend Ryan Love on the drums. Despite wanting Stewart to join the band straight away, the group initially played as a four piece as Stewart was away at university at the time of the group’s formation, although he would always get up and play with them whenever he was able to attend a gig. Upon the completion of his studies however, and after moving back down to South East Essex, Stewart immediately joined the band as a full member, taking up keyboard and vocal duties within the group. The band has been playing together as a five piece ever since, and have continued to perform all over the U.K. at countless venues and festivals.
